Photography

Began with me when as a newlywed I came to learned I was going to be a daddy.  I immediately thought, wow, I’m going to be a dad and there’s going to be so many moments that are all going to go away unless I decide to record them, to capture them.  Lucky for me in middle school I had taken a Year Book class as one of my electives and it was there where I developed a love for photography. So I decided to refresh everything I had learned.  This was back in 1998, the good ol’ film days 35mm cameras going head to head with Medium Format cameras. My first camera was a Nikon N50, I treasured it like nothing else. I loved Nikon, and slowly I began to take Photography classes in college and began to add professional equipment. My all time favorite camera was the Nikon F100, oh how I miss it, lighting fast, accurate focusing and just beautiful to hold. I would later venture into to Medium format with the Mamiya 645AF, love this camera too. Digital of course changed everything for me, the Fuji S2 was quite a revolutionary camera, so much to learn about this new medium, so many questions that in retrospect could only be understood in time. Since then I switched to the Nikon’s D200 and now shoot with the amazing Canon 5D, but I’m quickly looking at adapting the new capabilities of video and still on an SLR. This promises to take us yet again in new direction that while not revolutionary for the world, still amazing and so much to master which in time will become and integral part of my coverage. As you can see I’ve had quite and satisfying career photographing with toys most guys just drool about. I love my life, I love Photography!

I photographed my first wedding in 1999 for my friend Monica Tello. She was getting married but had already hired a professional, what a great opportunity I thought. Oh was I greatly humbled with respect and admiration for the wedding photographer! But I was passionate and persistent in honing and refining my skills. I was very fortunate to be mentored by a few old timers who taught me so much and helped me to expand my skills. The wedding photographer walk is slow specially in the film days but oh so rewarding. Most of my skills I refined through college courses, industry conferences, and a great love and desire to want to get better. Through 10 years of experience photographing weddings I have seen many facets of my style and nothing fascinates me more than seeing a complete weddings full of moments of joy, of laughter, the formalness of the family, a supportive and fun group of friends in a wedding party, of timeless romantic moments and so much more.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have have everlasting Life. John 3:16
