These are such gorgeous details! I love the reds and the oranges the coordinators picked for this Special Event. This was a 50th surprise birthday party special event for one of my clients in Los Angeles, they put together such a beautiful event and I had a wonderful time being there!
You know I showed this slideshow to my 12, 10 and 6 year olds and it was a huge hit with them, they had to watch it 3 times in a row the first time they caught it, they said dad that was a really nice event. I had a great time photographing it of course. This girl just had one amazing birthday party, just amazing!!

As promised, I have more and more pictures to share from the wonderful celebration this family put together for their beloved daughter. The ceremony was held at the great Calamigos Ranch. Calamigos is this great paradise tucked in between the canyons of Malibu and hidden away from all the noise of the city, a great place for a celebration. It oozes the whole Malibu Ranch feel with dusty roads, the steep hills of the canyons all around, the green and lush trees with long lazy branches, not sure about the narrow driveway to get in to the parking lot but all in all I really love this place. I loved how the photos came out too in crisp and vibrant mid-morning light, very-very beautiful. And this young lady is very beautiful in deed, with sparkles in her eyes and in her smile and with those pretty heart earrings, I think she looks beautiful in these photos. Bat Mitzvahs ceremonies are great me! I enjoy all the aspects of the traditional songs, the readings, the great significance of the presence of the Torah, the faces on the families in full joy to celebrate this milestone, I love it!! So as you can imagine, being there to photograph it was quite an icing on the cake for me. Here are just a few of the photos from the amazing ceremony performed by Rabi Cantorli-Paz.

I’m having a blast editing pictures from this event right now. There’s roughly 4000 images can you believe it? That’s 4000 shots between my 2nd photographer and myself from about 10 hours of shooting. It sure is a ton of pictures to go over, but still worth the memories and that’s what this family loves, they love have great memories and these are going last a life time! I will post more later including a pictures from a special performance by Greyson Chance!

This beautiful young lady is going to be celebrating her Bat Mitzvah in a big way in just a few weeks, pretty exciting!! Mom called me up for some portraits at the beach last minute, plans changed fairly quickly and the session was moved to her home. All in all a pretty typical session, I anticipated a few wardrobe changes, some with cool shades of colors, others a little warmer and my favorite, the one on the stairway, very high fashion. These are showing the soft and beautiful pleasing wraparound light that I love to photograph in. The plans for these images is to have one of these printed life-size and displayed at her reception. I love how youthful and full of energy she looks, she’s beaming obviously!!

This is Scott & Sylvia’s engagement session, don’t they look fantastic! These two are truly in-love! These were done in Laguna, my favorite beach for photos. So romantic, picturesque in golden sunlight, so gorgeous and beautiful, California riviera at it’s best. So Sylvia and Scott are doing it, they’re tying it up and this time next year they’ll be filling jointly. Such a nice couple, who happens to go one of my favorite churches, Harvest with Greg Laurie in Irvine, not the main Riverside church. Anyway, had a blast and I really love what we came away with. Wonderful work John! Its always a joy to see the work of someone who truly does have a passion for his work. I am so impressed and just wanted to thank you personally. We are so happy for my brother Scott and his soon to be bride Sylvia! Our family is truly blessed!
What is an great venue in San Diego which was recently renovated and not too many people know about it? The location is amazing and the place is beautiful!! It’s the Grand Del Mar Hotel in San Diego, it’s a great venue, hotel, restaurant, club and the perfect place for this 50th birthday celebration. I photographed this family’s daughter wedding last year, It was great to see them again. Here are some of the photos.
