I photographed Quyen and Jeff ‘s wedding with my good friend David Ham who was working for me as my 2nd photographer. The ceremony was held at the Rancho Bernardo Courtyard in San Diego, this is a beautiful places to host your ceremony. It’s basically a commercial location with offices but used as a special events venue on weekends. I can think of the Turnip Rose in Costa Mesa as a similar venue. Rancho Bernardo Courtyard offers traditional Spanish architecture with adobe whitewash walls, spanish pavers, and colorful tiles throughout the grounds. It features a beautiful large fountain right in the center of the courtyard, and all around are these beautiful lush trees blooming colorful flowers in season. Quyen and Jeff made use of the large size bridal rooms which photograph really well. I love photographing in these type of places, the lighting is so yummy! Quyen and Jeff are casual types, relaxed, happy go lucky type people . I was introduced to Quyen at Autumn’s wedding, her BF. Quyen was a member of the bridal party. The day was beautiful, typical San Diego weather, perfect for a wedding day. For their portraits together I was able to work with them on the grounds of the courtyard showing them relaxed yet romantic yet having a great time. They were so comfortable with me photographing them, we had already had about a 2 hour engagement session out in Costa Mesa and in Irvine before their wedding. Quyen’s main theme color was some where between a turquoise and a pool blue. The fabric of the dresses was elegant, stylish and chic, perfect for these girls! Guys wore tradition black tuxes. The wedding party member were fun loving college types with a desire to have a blast and I can tell you they did as did I too!! The reception was held at the Pearl Restaurant which is an Asian restaurant. I enjoyed the day and the moments David and I were able to capture. Quyen & Jeff were were the winners of my Best Image of 2010 Wedding Contest on Facebook in which they won a 30×40 canvas.
