Love is like a friendship caught on fire ~Bruce Lee

Summer’s coming to an end and my favorite time of the year in Orange County is just around the corner. Today I’m blogging Christina & Parsia’s Hollywood summer wedding at the bohemian-inspired and super eclectic venue, Madera Kitchen. This wedding venue and restaurant is beautiful with a dark and moody palette that is attractive and charming, quite a contrast to many local wedding venues in Los Angeles that offer a bright and airy palette. I love bright and airy, but dark and moody is awesome also. There are so many very unique and handpicked decor pieces at Madera Kitchen, carefully installed throughout, as well as one of a kind backdrop palettes that are eye-catching and very Instagram worthy. You get a very chill-back and urban-ish vibe as you soak up the scene all around. The wedding ceremony at Madera Kitchen is set up in front of a backdrop texture of warm wine barrels, amidst candle lights which adds a touch of romance. Parking was a little bit difficult, but after 6 PM it’s readily easy to find parking. Christina & Parsia were recommend to me by the now-closed Oviatt Venue in Downtown LA. Very unfortunate for what happened with the management there which did affect this couple, but this venue, as well as many others, have come to help those who were affected but their closing down. The couple had a magnificent time amidst family and friends enjoying this somewhat hot day in Southern California. My day started with them photographing the “first look” at Mama Shelter Hotel just a couple of blocks away. We had anticipated that it may be a challenge to get some photos on the rooftop overlooking the Los Angeles photo-worthy skyline, but it was a crowded Sunday morning which did not give us too much to work with. Nonetheless, photography must go on and we were still able to capture the scene and vibe of being on a rooftop in the heart of Hollywood. The couple is just about back in Los Angeles from their honeymoon in Italy. They have seen their photos and are truly in love with them. I couldn’t be more happy for them and the fact they will be going back and looking back and thinking back to this wonderful day in their lives.
